Brisbane 2012 Time Capsule and Schools Design Competition

25 September, 2012

An opportunity is being given for Brisbane residents to share a story for the Brisbane 2012 Time Capsule that will be placed inside the Main Auditorium during City Hall's redidication ceremony in April 2013.

Residents are invited to upload a photo and short story up to 250 words by clicking on the Time Capsule link on Council's website at www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/cityhall. A hard copy alternative is also available inside the current issue of the "Your City Your Say" newsletter.

Submissions for the Brisbane 2012 Time Capsule will close on 31 December 2012, when the stories will be packaged into a one-of-a-kind book. The Time Capsule is scheduled to be reopened in 2059 to coincide with the 200 year anniversary of the declaration of the municipality of Brisbane.

In addition, a primary school competition has been launched inviting students to design the front and back cover of the time capsule book. Competition entries close on Friday 12 October. Further information about the school's competition is available from the Time Capsule page online.

This is an exciting opportunity for Brisbane to help create a snapshot of life in Brisbane in 2012.
